Rob Alman

Coach Alman is the Co-Head Coach of the Butler University Soccer Program. In addition to his time with the Bulldogs, Coach Alman brings 12 years of coaching experience working with players across the full spectrum of youth, college, post collegiate and professional ranks. A native of Leicester, England, Alman’s playing career included time with two professional clubs in England – Northampton Town and Kidderminster Harriers. Coach Alman holds the US Soccer A License and the NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma.

Tari St. John


“There are two main goals we strive to achieve with every player at camp. One, provide each player with the tools to become a better player and two, provide such a positive camp experience that each player’s love for the game grows even more.”

Coach St. John is the Co-Head Coach of the Butler University Women’s Soccer Program. Now in the nationally renowned Big East Conference, St. John and Co-Head Coach Alman have lead the Bulldog’s to two of the finest seasons in school history in 2012 and 2013. With 9 returning starters, the team looks poised to continue their success this fall. Coach St. John played her college career at Purdue University. A two-year captain for the Boilers, she earned Academic All-American honors in her senior season. Coach St. John holds the US Soccer A License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma.

Ric Huffman

Camp Director

“Camp is one of the highlights of my year. To have the opportunity to work with so many youth soccer players is a privilege. Indianapolis has such a great foundation of youth programs, we get excited every summer to see kids come back year after year with energy and excitement towards the game. Our aim is to fuel that energy and keep the kids passionate about the sport we love.”

Coach Huffman is the Butler Soccer Program’s top assistant and has been a part of building a championship team alongside Coach Alman and Coach St. John. Huffman played his college career at 8-time National Champion Indiana University. He also played several years of professional soccer with the Indianapolis Twisters. Coach Huffman holds the US Soccer B License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and the NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Diploma.

Mark Spiegel

Director of Elite

Mark Spiegel is proudly from Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Spiegel played at Butler University as a center-mid and earned a degree in English and Secondary Education. Mark is the Academy Director at South Central Soccer Academy on the south side of Indianapolis and is the founder of the 501c3 nonprofit Make Your Own Ball Day. Spiegel was chosen to be apart of the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program for young coaches and is involved in presenting and lecturing at the national convention. Other achievements: 2-time Table Top Champion, eight 14’ers climbed, undefeated in Scrabble and qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon. Spiegel is passionate about using soccer as a platform for change and serves locally through Young Life, Capernaum and ballin’ at the center.

Alex Collier

Director of Operations |  1st Year

Alex Collier, a 2015 Butler graduate, returned to the university as an assistant coach with Butler’s women’s soccer program in July, 2019. Collier returned to his alma mater after spending the last four years coaching and training soccer players at a variety of levels, including the professional ranks.

Mo el Mohammed

Camp Staff |  9th Year

Mo el-Mohammed is no stranger to Butler soccer and club soccer in Indiana. He was a member of Conference Champion and NCAA tournament teams while a student athlete at Butler. Additionally he has enjoyed a number of successes while coaching at the club level.

“I no longer reside in Indianapolis but I’m always eager to return to participate in this soccer camp. It combines everything that I have known to be true about this community with enthuiastic coaches and aspiring youth players. The Butler Soccer experience is one of a kind and I am happy to do my part.”

Wes Priest

Camp Staff  |  9th Year

Wes has a long history with the Butler University Soccer Program. In 1991, he served as the Butler Men’s Assistant Coach, and in 1993, was the Butler Women’s Assistant coach.
Wes played collegiately at Indiana University where he was a member of IU’s 1988 NCAA National Championship Team. Wes holds the US Soccer B License and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

Jeremy Harkins 

Camp Staff |  6th Year

As a former playmaking center-mid for the Bulldogs, Coach Jeremy had a standout career earning All-Conference and All-Region honors. He continued his playing career at professional programs Cincinnati Riverhawks, Boarder Stars and Detroit Dynamite. He is the current Director of Coaching for the Michigan Gators and has over 19 years of coaching experience. Coach Jeremy holds the US Soccer C License.

Jeff “Hodgie” Hodgson

Camp Staff  |  6th Year

Jeff is a former professional player with the Detroit Rockers and a former college stand-out at Western Michigan University. With the aid of his partner John Phillips, Jeff created the “Michigan Gators” soccer club after his playing career ended. Hodgson is a high profile coach, gaining a position on the Michigan ODP staff. Hodgson is known for being one of the great teachers of the game.

Tim Verschuren

Camp Staff |  4th Year

Tim currently resides in New Jersey and works as a Division 1 assistant coach for New Jersey Institute of Technology. In addition to his duties at the collegiate level, Tim coaches various youth teams for the Morris United / STA club. A native of the Netherlands, Tim currently holds the US Soccer B License and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

The campers bring with them excitement and a desire to learn to the fields each day; this completes the learning environment and is a constant reminder that coaching at this camp will always be a highlight of my summer.”

Dean Slaughter

Camp Staff  |  4th Year

A native of Windsor, England, Dean is a former youth team coach with English professional clubs Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers. Dean began coaching in the US in 2006 and has been a prominent coaching figure in New Jersey, working with some of the highest ranked youth teams in the region and also winning a State Championship with Millburn High School in 2010.
